Prey

Intaki Prime

Sea in the Southern Hemisphere

01:49 ET

In a tropical sea on Intaki prime an Elasmobranchii class carnivorous fish began its slow and meaningful ascent to the surface of the rich blue sea. Smaller fish that saw it darted away but due to its presence the area around it held few other sea creatures many knowing the dangers that it represented.

4.6 AU away and 6,000km from the Intaki II Federation Logistics station a Rokh class Caldari battleship sat cloaked in space awaiting its prey capsuleer Richard Masseri could feel the anticipation as it played across him, the ship and the crew. The feeling of suffocation was heavy in the air or for Richard heavy in the gelatinous substance that permeated every orifice of his body. Breathing in the common way was not something done inside a pod and considering how long Richard was prone to stay in pod it was a wonder his body knew how to breath at all. The many tubes and wires fed him food, information and air alike, like the carnivorous fish so very far away Richard was used to being submerged he was also used to hunting.

The fish watched its prey as the creatures far above if flittered about around a rotten carcass that had returned to the surface. They were ignorant of its presence oblivious to the danger that  lurked below the surface of the water, they fought each other over the scraps little know another was slowly approaching in readiness to feed upon them.

Richard Masseri watched his crew as they quietly prepared for the upcoming event it was unusual for a ship this large to be so quiet but the silence reassured him that all parties knew the significance of what was coming. A minor act some might call it petty but also a meaningful one an act of wanton violence on an unarmed target. This was not his usual style however that was about to change.

The fish began its steady ascension as it did so it sized up the prey it needed not only surprise but perfect timing there were three birds and with perfect timing all three could be claimed.

"Local Spike. Four federation targets have entered system." The message hit Richards eardrums at the same time it was fed into the active local channel on his neocom. The targets had arrived four pilots two with similar callsigns, a message from Dutch confirmed that they were, as expected, that they were all piloting shuttles. Richard activated directional scan and waited, nothing then yes four shuttle 14AU, 10AU, 5AU, 1AU. Decloak.

The fish sped to the surface breaking through the water it lunged mouth opening wide teeth sharp as knives the birds hardly knew what was happening as the jaw slammed shut two down the third opened its wings in an attempt to escape.

The shuttles popped out of warp and between them and the station stood ILF Kalipela the Rokh class battleship piloted by ILF pilot Richard Masseri. They registered this information just as the smartbombs began to activate eviscerating the shuttles in which the pods of these federation operatives were situated. The pods then sat there unprotected a vulnerable layer between space and there own capsuleer occupants.

The fish lunged again its jaws catching the bird just as it launched into the air the timing was perfect 4.6AU away the smartbombs began there second activation each pilot suddenly was exposed to the pure vacuum of space and the damaging power of a smartbomb blast.

After a small delay salvage drones quickly cleared the wrecks and each frozen corpse was cleared away then Richard cloaked the ship 4.6AU away the carnivorous fish returned to the depths its hunger sated for a time.

The viscous liquid travelled up his throat and bubbled and drooled out of his mouth some being propelled with force while the bulk ran down his chin or fell to his chest, stomach, legs or feet . as it did so it joined the same liquid that already blanketing his skin. Taking another few uneven steps forward Richard felt the strength start to make its  way painfully into his muscles. He had been in the capsule for easily 48hours and the time now weighed on his body every inch hurt, the water was like a good right hook to the temple and some of the drowsiness left him as his senses started to return.

Ten minutes later he was fully clothed are walking out to meet his fellows.

“Namas Sri Masseri.”

“Namas.” Richard responded appraising the man with a glance

The man was thin heavily tattooed  with a drawn face and no noticeable hair, he was wearing a sharp black suit with ruby red lapels.

“I trust everything is to your liking Sri.”

The room was fairly spacious and in addition to Richard and the unnamed man there were nine others in military garb all whose faces were covered wearing the standard protective face gear of marines or bodyguards.

Richard smiled “That really does depend doesn’t it, but you have definitely done your best and that I am grateful for that.”

The man smiled bowed low and left the room one of the other men followed him out.

Another of the men then came over and passed a neocom to the capsuleer and Richard took it tapped in his passcode, immediately his interest was elsewhere looking at production facilities and market data with a flick of his fingers one of the walls showed a much enlarged image of his industrial facilities on Intaki I through to VII and with rapid vigour he set to work.

Many hours later Richard entered another room at its centre was a bed the cream sheets felt soft to the touch and Richard laid his body down onto them, the lights in the roam continued to pour there glare upon the room but eventually Richards eyes closed and he began to slumber.

Outside of the mobile structure a cruiser sat cloaked awaiting the return of its pilot work teams and drones milled around and took guard duty shifts some even visited the structure taking there own time to rest up the atmosphere was hushed and complacent if something was changing none there openly admitted it.

Richard manipulated the chopsticks and raised another dumpling to his lips the fatty salty broth made him salivate as he opened his mouth and bit down on half the dumpling severing it in two. Holding the other half in place he started to chew taking pleasure in the delightful aroma and the textured crunch of the shrimp and vegetable filling. Each chew excited his mouth with more flavour like a mini smart bomb dishing out its charge be it the the crunch and sharp hit of onion or the sweet taste of shrimp. When he finished the final dumpling he raised the bowl of broth to his lips and slowly sip by sip inhaled the last of this pleasurable meal.

Dutch looked across the table at him his own bowl finished and abandoned a glass of half drunk firewater in his hand.

"I'm sorry Richard I just don't understand you at the moment, you returned here. After all that crap in Ichoriya and so much time in hibernation in your damn pod and your here. Its almost like you have lost the last five years."

Richard smiled grimly.

"Almost like."

"Dutch did I ever tell you why I left the ILF?"

"Well I assumed it was because you had given up and needed a change."

"There was a bit of that I guess, along with a wish to increase the number of people I was allowed to shoot as well but no those were not the main reasons. I left to experience new things meet new people and also maybe the most compelling thing of all, learn."

"How noble of you, as far as I recall we just trained our guns on more targets and less rocks."

Richard grinned at his colleague he had worked with Dutch for years and the man knew him very well indeed.

"Now I know your being flippant my time in the Pyre Falcon Defence and Security Corporation was very enlightening the skill and dedication of my fellow capsuleers was amazing. There are many in that group that I admire and it was a joy and an honour to serve with them. That organisation taught me a lot."

"How was your time at Sigil Solutions then?"

The question clearly surprised Richard and he took a moment to consider his response.

"Sigil was and is an idea but that corporation has yet to find its feet and I tried there and then yes that is where the gap opens and my hibernation begins."

Richard stood.

"I must take my leave now."

Richard inspected the cargo that he had salvaged from his destroyed ship his body was a mess of bone, flesh and metal but it was still without a doubt him. Punching some instructions into data pad drones quickly appeared and removed the body and the rest of the cargo away.

Richard then stripped, his body felt fresh and new the implants and augments were only recently installed and some aches and pains remained from the surgeries. He hooked himself into the pod and then started to think, the pod juices swirled around him covering him, drowning him. A slight tang of fear touched his lips as he opened his mouth for a brief moment and it filled with liquid.

Glass, Smoke and Mirrors

((Once again I apologise for my absence its not that I haven't been playing EVE it's more that I haven't been able to decide what to write. I currently have two "big" stories planned for Richard but as some of their stars have now left the game writing them, which was originally rather a challenge has become rather hard to stomach, along with that life outside of Eve has me tackling or actually I guess avoiding tackling some rather hard decisions this has meant setting aside time to think and write has been hard. On a plus and it is a big plus I have massively improved my PvP and I also will be attending Fanfest 2016, so I am greatly looking forward to that. Anyway enough about me more about Richard...))

The two men shook hands and bowed low to each other, the room was very dark its only lighting was the lamp by the door and the lamp in the centre of the small shabby looking wooden table that the men, now took their seats at.
"Greetings I can now inform you that the money required for your entry into the capsuleer program is paid in full" Richard smiled as the other gentlemen acknowledged his remark with a single nod.
"As far as money ships and tools I offer you nothing, to keep our attachment unknown until the job is complete is crucial, once the job is done you will, of course, be paid for all expenses, plus the reward."
"So this will be our last conversation until the job is complete." Richard answered the question with a nod.
"Good luck sir, I really hope you are successful" Richard rose to leave and the other man quickly followed suit and with a smile turned to the door and whispered a quiet reply.
"As do I Mr Masseri" and without another word both men left the room.
The two shuttle's flew into the blackness of space and as they disappeared the tiny unoccupied station that their conversation had taken place on burst into flames.

Breaking News

Date: 2015-01-30
Time: 22:14
Region: Placid
System: Intaki
Planet: Intaki V (Intaki Prime)
Location: Masseri Mansion - Floor Fifteen – Richard Masseri's Private Quarters

“Breaking News Roden success in bid for second term!”

The table shattered and its pieces span across the room covering the carpet in fragments of glass
the maid rushed in to see what had happened and gasped.
“Master Richard, are you ok?”
“I'm fine just annoyed, please leave.. I'll clean up the mess myself.”
The maid hurried from the room she had not seen her master in this mood before and did not like it one bit.

Richard picked himself off the floor, blood gushed from an open wound on his real arm, specks of it had splashed onto his metal one and he paused for a moment to inspect it and as he looked he felt a brief feeling of clarity spread over him as if the blood had calmed him, then the rage came flooding back. In a flash both arms whirled down at the antique wooden boards which covered the floor splinters erupted stinging his arm, yet the pain didn't slow him down at all it just flowed into more rage. Striking the sofa with his normal arm achieved nothing but as his prosthetic hit the structure it gave-way the cushions sinking inward as if the thing was deflating he continued his attack, another crash, a lamp falling to the floor brought him to his senses.

He looked down at his human arm he could no long feel it, the numbness had already overwhelmed it. Shakily he lifted himself from the floor with the prosthetic arm and started to make his way to the exit.

There was a lot of blood, it seemed he had cut something important, suddenly the ground below him seemed to disappear and he fell to the floor.

The maid heard the crashes, unsure what to do she stood their unmoving, maybe someone else would sort this out. Shaking herself she pulled out her neocom and called the manor security.
“Vince, is that you... I don't know what’s going on but I believe that Mr Masseri has hurt himself he said he was ok but their was blood and he seemed so angry”
“Lily Its ok I'll be right up.”

True to his word, Vince, head of security, took just 340seconds to arrive on site and see the damage, Richard was suffering severe blood loss and had fainted. His limb was replaceable if not repairable and the nanite injector had quickly sealed up all the surface wounds. It seemed in his anguish Richard had managed to not only break his arm but shatter one of his bones (his ulna) It was likely in all the thrashing the prosthetic had come in contact with the real arm.

Richard was in medical for four hours while everything was patched up and fixed the doctor released him but suggested he seriously should consider seeing a professional to talk about stress.

The Chains Are Broken, Set the Captives Free

*Richard Connects a faint smile tugs on one side of his mouth*

Well today brings both joy and sadness. We finally caught that Sansha Devil her warp drive had broken thanks to some of my crews rebellion in her hanger and she was unable to leave in a hurry. Seeing the advantage me and some of my companions in the ILF scanned her down and commenced an attack.

Before this point I had caught her on grid but far off on two separate occasions on one of these occasion I scanned her cargo hanger and confirmed once and for all that she had taken my 90 strong crew, along with a small group of 57 civilians which she must of abducted off some small outpost.

The Scan Showed this.

- Crew - 90

- Marines - 40
- Freedom Fighters - 25
- Pilots - 22
- Janitors - 3

- Raid Victims - 57

- Homeless - 20
- Refugees - 24
- Janitors - 13

Sadly as we landed on grid she started jettisoning the captives in cans and then proceeded to shoot them. Out of the original group we lost 15 to the lasers of the Phantasm and then 13 more died in intensive care.

So to summarise we only had a success rate of 81% having lost 28 souls to the Sansha agent, that said she was destroyed and her body was left in the cold darkness of space.

Let us all remember without the fine work of Bataav, Daniel Alpena and Yumi Hikare none of the captives would of been freed.

Survivors

- Crew - 67

- Marines - 20
- Freedom Fighters - 25
- Pilots - 22
- Janitors - 0

- Raid Victims - 52

- Homeless - 15
- Refugees - 24
- Janitors - 13

Sansha

*Connects Richard is wearing a serious countenance and looks worried*

We have a clue as to the where a bouts of the missing crewmen. A message was intercepted by the ILF intelligence that the Sansha forces currently operating in the Woenckee constellation may have sent an agent into the Intaki system. We are currently waiting for confirmation, if this is indeed the case our mystery will be solved though with undoubtedly terrible consequences.

Update On Missing Crew

*Richard connects he looks tired and distressed*

My colleague Daniel Alpena found the wreckage of my Legion and salvaged what he could from the remains. His report also indicates a lack of dead bodies or in fact any sign of the crew at all. There has also been no ransom or communication which can help me understand their fate but it is obvious that some third-party must be at work here. I hope against hope that I do not find Blood Raiders at the end of this path.

MIA Presumed Dead

*Conects his face shows signs of redening around the eyes and a grim look of angered determination is etched into his face*

Sometimes things don't go to plan and sometimes they just go horribly wrong, about two days ago I finished basic training for a T3 cruiser the wait was a long one and I was pleased when it was finally complete. Just like many pilots do I had the ship fitted and ready to take out for a trial run. Well last night was my first real opportunity and I took it.

Well we all know what happened next it is the same old story across the universe of New Eden. This however painful financially ((And I always fly by the first rule of eve)) was not what made me the way I am at this moment. My crew were lost entirely not a single survivor from what can be ascertained the wreck was lost and looted and also left in a very hostile area so we may never know for sure.

The attacker made no hail in local and merely appeared next to me and though I attempted to escape I also performed a pre-emptive strike to cover my retreat. Nothing however could be achieved and in moments I was scrambled, webbed and neuted and all I could do was watch, as my ship exploded around me.

Under normal circumstances my crew should of been able to escape but as of yet I have not heard from a single one of them and considering my position in space at the time of destruction I should of heard from them hours ago. I probably sound like I have given up and sadly as the situation feels so hopeless I must say my determination is beginning to faulter.

Tactical Musings

There are some who would say the ILF is not unlike many of the other capsuleer groups that occupy the Placid region. This for the most part is entirely untrue when hailed by a fearful militia pilot the other day it took some time for me to explain why now that I had killed the pirate in system I had no plans to turn my hostile attention to said pilot. The idea that we as pilots of the ILF follow the ROE set out on our corporation description really does seem to astound some people.

Keeping the peace in the Placid region is a very varied job. Things often go from dead to overwhelming in a very short period of time, thus maintaining a constant battle readiness approach is generally considered good practice. It is also important to vary your methods of destruction as you will often find yourself up against the same opponents time and time again. This style of combat means constantly trying out new fits for ships, without going into specifics commonly this can means using ships for roles they were never originally favoured for, turning a long range specialist into a brawler turning an exploration vessel into a sturdy tackle ship. Such tactics though reckless do often achieve results be they catastrophic or successful.

Thus losses are common and though painful they are considered to be part of our learning curve to become better pilots this is not to make light of the crew men and women lost in such destruction it is just a hard truth of our existence. We are not alone in these tactics, many of our opponents have similar practices though unlike us their pool of targets for testing there ships on is much more varied.

Well I seem to of meandered around some point for long enough but I guess my basic message is if a member of the ILF is in local you only have to worry if your a pirate, criminal flagged, -5 or below or if you have shot us before, so until we meet under such circumstances,

pratya yavati and fly safe.

Going Nowhere Risking Everything

Sitting down on a stool I began to observe the other occupants in the bar. There were a few of us in residence, to an average baseliner we were no different to anyone else. To each other however we were obvious. I managed a slight nod to the girl seated at the opposite corner of the bar and shared look with the man by the pool table. Out in space either of these two might of attacked me without a second glance but now in a bar full of baseliners there was a sense of union and acceptance.

I smiled at the girl behind the bar, she was tall and dark haired. One of her ears, her left, was encrusted with a mix of something between jewellery and circuitry. Implants were slotted into her neck in a combination of professional and obviously amateur jobs. Her arms, one of which was a cybernetic modification, were held loosely at her sides and her face held a look of general disinterest.

"Namas young lady may I have a dark rum on ice and a bottle of Quafe." She grinned back at me, "Lady, well that's a new one, I guess it's a mark up from honey or sweetly." She turned and started to prepare the drinks cracking open the Quafe with one metallic hand and scooping ice into the other glass with her normal one. She placed the drinks in front of me and went on to serve her next customer.

Before I had even got the glass to my mouth I could smell the intoxicating perfume of the drink, knocking it back in one I the took two swigs from the bottle of Quafe. As the alcohol hit the bloodstream my body relaxed slightly and for a second the aches and pains felt less but then the sensation was gone...

Drinking in station bars can be dangerous especially without body guards but surprisingly enough many capsuleers do it despite the dangers I guess the risk adds some extra adrenaline to the experience maybe it's just because watching the baseliners just reminds us how human we are.

((OOC)) An Apology

An Apology
((OOC))
Ok so I would like to start the year by saying sorry for my silence over the last 2 months, work plus exam preparation both took up a large amount of my time and completely ruined my appetite for writing. A second apology to all those who I promised a special post in the new year it's not ready yet I had it planned I wrote 800 words but it's just not there yet it also was a victim of my lack of appetite.

Now I would like to say thanks to those who have been reading over last year you are the ones who make it worthwhile and it's also always great to hear from you.
Also as its new year I will make a resolution to post a lot more this year though I might slip a little OOC in as well as the RP but we shall see.

As well and I'm not quite sure how this works in a blog but I would like to do some shout outs for the year it's a pretty long list so bear with me.

-Well first to all my amazing Corp mates at the ILF who put up with me and my habits.

-Second to Nuke Cave for all the excellent fights

-Milo Camen for teaching me the finer points of scouting

-To my CEO Sakaane Eionell for not kicking me :p

-To Tryaz and co for some excellent PvP and his Chronicle recordings

-To All the Staff at the Declarations of War Broadcast

-Aedre Lafisques for being a faction war pilot but not a pirate

-Jandice Ymladris for being a great reporter

-James Syagrius for always providing someone to shout at in OOC and IC channels

-Djimbo Pakkat for hauling my stuff

Ok I'm sure I've forgotten people but basically if I have had fun with you this year cheers qqqaand thanks.

More posts incoming, till then fly safe

Blast To The Past

Something I found and I thought I share.

Through the scope I watched him as he moved from house to house, he would knock at each door if there was an answer he would spend approximately two minutes chatting get out an envelope, pass it to them, smile and nod his head politely then move to the next house, If there was no answer he would crouch and retrieve an envelope and slip it under the door.

When he had been to all the house's in the square he began the walk up the lane towards the place where he had parked his MTAC. At two meters from the machine he did as he had done in the previous five settlements, stopped and lit a cigarette. I breathed out as his body slumped to the ground, two weeks that were not coming back but it had been worth it.

Gurden Edearis had been a Serpentis enforcer for around eight years he was untouchable, or so it had been though. I picked my way through the rocks down the slope and onto the road leading towards the town. My rifle, already dismantled, now sat in the briefcase which I was holding firmly in my left hand, I strode into town looking dead ahead at Gurden's MTAC.

The town's people parted as I came towards the body, rolling up his left sleeve I found what I was expecting, the Serpent engraved into his arm. I then removed my data pad from my breast pocket and attached the facial scanner.

This is an extract from my father's journal of his younger years, at the time he was writing this he was still in university, so it has been an eye opening experience for me to read and has definitely given me some questions that I can ask him when I next visit Syndicate.

Killing A Mechanical Tortoise

The whole feel of the pod was different I felt weaker slower and restrained like each thought that normally ran so smoothly from mind to ship was clogged somehow the messages got through yes but not so neatly or for that matter so effortlessly. Sansha has arrived.

So I have been silent of late, this has not been to a lack of activity simply a lack of time to write about it. My attacks on pirates both capsuleer and non, have been regular and with results as ever changing as a stormy sea, my market orders both buying and selling continue to be fruitful, sadly my fitted ships have not done so well.

Planet side operations continue to be a success with many orders for hybrid cattle coming in every week. The Masseri State is really on the map, another trader has recently moved into the area which means competition should bring more business to the area and more trade opportunities seem to be appearing in Eugales less than a stone's throw away.

But now Sansha has arrived and his hoards as before threaten all who dwell in our system. I acted fast to begin with, first I looked at Intel and then I tested my metal against the forces of evil myself eventually I took out six frigates and two battleships in three separate battles. But it seems Sansha learns fast and soon singular groups containing just frigates and battleships became a rarity and the cruisers proved more then a match for me. After these first attempts I later joined up with my Corp mates and began a second round of assaults this time we took out approximately ten Frigates and one cruiser. It's slow and steady but we seem to be getting somewhere.

Now I fear for those planet side, I myself have been in station since the incursion began but I worry for my friends and relatives. I have already started looking into producing aid packages as well as repopulation plans for some of the smaller colonies in the Viriette constellation. I have every confidence in the Intaki military in combination with Modus Legion to put up a good fight if Sansha does put feet on the ground but I do wonder if there is more I can do.

The Sun Rises and a New Day Begins

The Trimervaaryam livestock pastures project has now officially opened, to celebrate the fact, I threw a small party of fellow corporation members and friends. Not everyone managed to make it, probably in part due to the late notice of the affair. However everyone who did seemed to have a fun and enjoyable time.

Diagram of the genetically enhanced livestock

First we introduced ourselves, as not all the guests were acquainted then I showed a brief film explaining the genetic engineering that had been done, after this, most of the party went on a small viewing of the pastures.

There was then a raffle who's winner won a Garmur with the runner up winning a police pursuit frigate. I then finished the occasion with a nice little firework display outside Intaki V-5.

My employees at my planet side mansion were amazed at how friendly and cordial the capsuleer guests were, so I thank you all again and let you know you have convinced a few more planet dwellers that we are not all demons from the depths of hell.

Firework Display being performed outside Intaki V-5 Station
with a lovely shot of Intaki Prime in the background
The Police Pursuit Frigate was very kindly donated by the Aurora Arcology corporation
and on that note it brings another recent event to mind in fact the event which started my formation of a relationship with the aforementioned group.

I recently set free a group of prisoners who I retrieved from the wrecks of several serpents habitat modules. They had spent their last three months in holding cells, well fed and watered. I decided eventually to hand them on to the Aurora Arcology Project who said that they would rehabilitate them, which I personally hope they achieve though I admit part of me still wanted to release them into space where they could await their certain death in one of my jet-cans.

Both these events were also reported on by Aurora Arcology News so I would definitely recommend popping by there data stream and giving it a read.

ILF Member Profile

I would like to say a big thank you to my Suresha for putting up my ILF profile for public viewing. This is part of one of the corporations on going plans to have profiles available of some of its members from what I understand people are chosen at random so as to keep equality. The other profile available at this time is that of my fellow pilot Erun Talan who also writes the stories of his life as a capsuleer which can be found here.

Paamoralest, Traitor

Paamoralest, Traitor

Place:               Belt One Planet VI
System:            Intaki
Constellation:   Viriette
Region:            Placid

I flew in at two hundred kilometres off the centre of the belt, picking the appropriate rock nearest to my targets I warped down among them, at first they seemed still or confused then I opened fire. The ships volleys seemed to cut through the small frigates like paper, when they were down I moved onto the battleship. Its shields went down like the frigates but its armour was tougher stuff however it still seemed to do a better job then one of my destroyers and in not too long a time there was nothing left but a burnt out wreck. The last transmission I heard before it finally went silent comprised of just two words “Fraud...... TRAITOR”.

Its not about who made the ship its about how you use it, the Daredevil is an excellent ship in my humble opinion and despite its origins I will happily use one. Why not,  if given the choice between the kitchen knife made by your friend and the hand gun made by your enemy you'd pick up the hand gun to protect yourself, not the knife. Ships are not good and they are not evil they simply serve the purpose of there master.

As you might be able to tell I recently bought some Daredevil hulls and have been using them to destroy the the Serpentis scum who occupy our home system. At first they did think I was one of them and they would cry traitor as flames engulfed what remained of there ships however that surprise has now worn off as intel regarding my true identity has leaked out. All the same I have christened my new ship Paamoralest the Intaki work for traitor just to emphasise that this ship is not being used for the purpose its Angel Cartel engineers made it for.

Aliastra, Serpents and Cows

In the last week I have managed to stockpile a nice size stash of the new Aliastra Thorax's, twenty four to be precise. On the subject of the Aliastra corporation, I have been working quite closely with them as of late and recently I organised an operation where a small contingent of ILF pilots and their allies flew the Aliastra colours while performing a scourge on local serpentis targets. This included (but was not solely) an attack on the Serpents Coil followed by a cleaning up of all Serpentis anomalies in the Vilinnon system.

Hopefully these new Thorax hulls will be put to a similar task though I have not decided as of yet what that task will be however I have got my hands on an Aliastra battleship hull which I'm hoping to use as a flagship.

I have also started researching the idea of some ways to boost economic growth in my home town, this will take the form of the introduction of a herd of livestock to populate the pastures on the towns outskirts. Although such an idea has been tried in the past, this time I am considering the use of genetically engineered livestock to improve the chances of success. In the past my brother and sister introduced a herd of cattle which ended up being infected by a rare jungle parasite, the parasite would decrease milk output and eventually kill the host.

A virus was eventually produced to kill the parasite but due to some unfortunate error in the genetic makeup the viral agent remained active in the parasite for a small time after its death, so the dead parasites would become poisonous to the livestock, needless to say this pretty much finished the remaining livestock off as the dead creatures would end up falling off into the feed fields. Many had also died from more common diseases as well.

Hopefully this time we shall have more success.

The More We Burn The More We Learn

Another day another ship, things haven't gone so well of late, that's not to say I'm not bathing in my new found riches, it's just to say my losses are up again. This probably is the result of me recently taking more risks in combat with not only capsuleer pirates but also our serpentine friends.

On the plus side these losses have come with a few more victories to my name and hopefully in time I will learn more, becoming a much more efficient fighter. With Gallente frigate skill almost at five the days of advanced frigate combat draw ever nearer and though this won't change my general choice of the t1 frigate it will put another string on my bow.

Lost a cruiser yesterday in a DED 4 site, just couldn't get the damn thing to align. Luckily in some ways the sense of impending doom did allow me time to give the order for all crew to abandon ship. This allowed many more to get away with their lives intact. I then returned in a destroyer and managed to kill the remaining serpentis pirates. The loot from their ships totalled at one hundred and forty six million ISK and payed for my loss just under four times.

I guess the major factors of the eve universe are often to do with risk and reward, the reward isn't always money though that does help, sometimes it's honour, respect, knowledge or even companionship. A life in low security space showcases this idea perfectly, there are rare ores to be collected and good loot and bounties on the general pirate populous, not to mention the untapped wealth of the wrecks, lost drones and anomalies. Risks however are also numerable, the pirates are tough and can easily make mincemeat of any mining barge if the pilot is even slightly slow at warping out. The capsuleers, myself included, are under no obligation to hold back, meaning there are many sizable pirate capsuleer corporations which roam with little to no rules to stop them attacking who they please.
